Who is this course for?

What will I learn?

Gain up-to-date theoretical knowledge and practical virtual training in immunisation.

This initial immunisation training is structured to provide a logical progression from foundational concepts to advanced practice. The course is delivered over two-parts, blending self-directed study with interactive exercises, group discussions, a virtual session. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Part 1: Focuses on the scientific background of vaccines, the UK immunisation schedule, and the legal and ethical framework for practice. You will explore the types of vaccines, how they work, and the importance of maintaining high coverage rates. This is delivered via self-directed eLearning and must be completed before Part 2. You will be able to access this on 1st June 2026 within the course. You will have 3 weeks to complete Part 1.

  • Part 2: Emphasises practical skills, including vaccine preparation, administration techniques, and the management of adverse events. There will be opportunities to discuss real-world scenarios, ask questions, and consolidate your learning in a virtual 1/2 day session. This will be held from 09.00 - 13.00 on Tuesday 23rd June 2026.

  • Part 3 Workplace Competencies: These are available in the course for you to download. Access to the course will close on 30th June 2026, please make sure you download your competencies prior to this date.

Once enrolled, you’ll gain access to self-directed learning from a scheduled start date. You’ll have three weeks to complete the online modules before joining your interactive virtual session, which will also be accessible through our learning management system.
