What will I learn?
This comprehensive training is designed to build your confidence and competence in delivering safe, evidence-based travel health consultations. The course is delivered in two parts, blending flexible self-directed study with interactive exercises, group discussions, and a virtual session.
Here’s what you can expect:
Part 1: Covers the foundations of travel health, including your professional role, key resources such as NaTHNaC and Travel Health Pro, and the principles of pre-travel risk assessment. You’ll explore legal and ethical considerations, consultation frameworks, and disease-specific prevention strategies. This is delivered via self-directed eLearning and must be completed before Part 2. You will be able to access this from Monday 17th August 2026 within the course.
Part 2: Focuses on applying your knowledge in practice through an interactive half-day virtual session. You’ll work through real-world scenarios, discuss complex cases, and consolidate your learning with expert guidance. This will be held at 09.00 - 13.00 on Tuesday 15th September 2026.
Part 3 Workplace Competencies: These are available in the course for you to download. Access to the course will close on 22nd September 2026, please make sure you download your competencies prior to this date.
Once enrolled, you’ll gain access to the self-directed learning from a scheduled start date. You’ll have two weeks to complete the online modules before joining your virtual session, which will also be accessible through our learning management system. Completion of both parts is required to progress to practical competencies.
You must complete the self-directed learning prior to the start of the 1/2 day virtual session.

Is there any funding available?
